Langara College is a public degree-granting college in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Langara serves approximately 20,000 students annually. Langara College is always looking for new ways to connect with current, past, and future students and employees. That's why they joined the social media sites: Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
Launched the “Get Connected” social media campaign to increase awareness of College and connecting users to the College’s presence on the social sites. Contest promoted users to follow us and then were entered to a draw to win an Apple iPhone 3GS. Each 'follow' was one entry, for a maximum of three entries. At the conclusion of the contest (3 month duration), we increased our audience significantly:
Facebook: 1543 fans (2300% increase)
Twitter: 1029 followers (200% increase)
YouTube: 699 subscribers (8700% increase)
I
was tasked to design and develop this campaign and all of the marketing pieces. Once the campaign was designed, I was able to create an awesome still motion video along with ads, postcards and posters. I reached a partnership with YouTube, which makes Langara College the only BC institute to have Educational Partner status with YouTube.
